12月限は寄り付きから91セント中盤を推移。その後、米国農務省から8月度の需給報告が発表されると急騰。結果、前日比210ポイント高の93.32/lbで引けた。推定出来高は25,000枚。
【相場動向要因】
綿花相場は週間輸出成約報告で堅調な成約数量が報告されたことに加え、その後の米国農務省が発表した需給報告で、上方修正が予想されていた米国綿花の生産数量が50万俵以上下方修正されたことに驚き、急反発した。
新綿花年度1週目の週間輸出成約報告では、今季のアップランド綿の成約数量が中国で12.38万俵、トルコで7.25万俵の報告がされ、トータルで正味成約数量が34.27万俵となった。
需給報告については、米国の今季の綿花生産数量が、7月度発表の1,780万俵から1,800万俵以上へ上方修正されるものと市場で期待されていたものの、予想に反し1,726万俵の結果となった。テキサス州では干ばつから回復し、作況は良好とされていたことが上方修正の予想の要因となっていたが、今回の発表では、放棄面積と単一面積あたりの収穫量が保守的な数字となり、生産数量を押し下げている。
