12月限は寄り付きから値を上げ88セント付近を推移。しばらく動意薄で推移していたが、米国での取引が本格化する直前頃に上昇し89セントを試すも下落。86セント付近で持ち直し、もみ合いながら推移。結果、前日比43ポイント高の87.40/LBで引けた。推定出来高は32,500枚。
【相場動向要因】
綿花相場は独立記念日休暇明け、アジア時間は100PTS以上値を上げて推移していたが、月曜日から始まった中国での備蓄在庫の販売が連日完売となっており、引き続き綿花需要が堅調なことが相場を押し上げた様子。米国時間の売りは強気な米国ドルの推移と天候回復に伴う作況回復を期待した穀物相場の下げが投機筋の売りを誘い、綿花相場も追随した。
米国の綿作地の天候は概ね良好で、本日の取引終了後に発表されたCrop ProgressでもGood/Excellentは米国全体で52%と大きな変化はなかった。しかし、現地水曜には熱帯低気圧エルサがフロリダから上陸しジョージア州を通り北に抜けていく予報が出ており、市場参加者の注目を集める。
